Family Involvement

Family Involvement

We believe active family involvement is a critical component of treatment. Our experience indicates that a student will “work” only as hard as his family is “working”. Families must work together with one purpose. They should be united as they work toward the goals set for their son. We encourage active participation and offer weekly communication to update you on his progress.

In addition to working with your teen, we also work together with your family. Our Teen Family Program is set up so your family can participate in groups and attend other various programs with your teen. This is a safe environment for your family to honestly deal with problems you have with your teenager.

Parental participation is a critical part of the Wood Creek Academy Program. Here are some participation expectations that will help your troubled teen succeed in our outdoor wilderness therapy program:

  • Pre Admission Interview and assessment
  • Pre Admission Coordination includes transportation. We can arrange for transportation.
  • First Week Feedback
  • Weekly Telephone Calls from Parent Coordinator
  • Weekly E-Mails
  • Blog updates of school activities
  • Leveling Up Parent Calls
  • Academic reviews
  • Special Communications
  • Parent Letters
  • Parent visits
  • Planning sessions with school and your son

“Family is not an important thing, it’s everything.”

– Michael J. Fox
